Great Experience!

Candles turned out beautifully - we were 4 teens and 2 moms at this session. The teens loved blending the scents and then making the candles. The Moms enjoyed the candle making and the creative expressions the teens had. Definitely recommend!!

Took my good friend as a birthday present and we had a great time. I would give 5 stars however the only things I’d say is that we were looking for a few scents that you didn’t have. Anna was terrific and I’ve done this twice now and love it.

Much fun

Me and my ladies had a class together and it was lots of fun. Making up different candle scents was quite interesting. Our teacher was friendly, knowledgeable and maybe a little repetitive. Might be time to come up with some new material, jsut saying.

Candle Making Workshop

I did this workshop with my mom for her birthday and I can honestly say we had a great time! Wendy and Brenda were so knowledgeable about the candle making process and they welcomed us with a fun and friendly atmosphere. It was really interesting and rewarding to create scents that were composed entirely by you and unique to your experiences. These candles would make a very thoughtful gift if you invented a scent that reminded you of someone and named the candle after them. I would definitely recommend this workshop for anyone who wants to try something different and learn a new skill. The fact that it is a great deal is an added bonus!

Wendy is fantastic!

I have been to the Serendipity candle-making workshop twice now and it has been fantastic both times. Wendy, the workshop instructor, is so knowledgeable and is clearly extremely passionate about what she does. She is a wonderful facilitator and she really knows how to get her customers excited about what they're doing. I would definitely recommend this workshop if you enjoy candles. I came away with some brand new, custom scents that I was really excited to show off to friends and family. I booked the workshop as a Christmas gift for my mom and we had a mother-daughter day with another friend of mine and her mom. Everyone loved it!

Fun times

We had the best time and the staff were engaging, knowledgeable and great ppl to spend an afternoon with. I work in marketing and events so 2 things I think would make it even better. 1) ditch the Dixie paper cups for the oils. The paper absorbs alot of product, they leak and get all over your hands making a mess and/or use gloves. And 2) you’ve got such a cool classy candle it would be great to have the label printed vs handwritten with sharpie. Would just take it up a notch.

This was a pre-Christmas activity for my mom and I. We had a blast. Easy booking and very knowledgeable staff. There were amply scents to choose from with encouragement to explore, mix, and get creative. Great time and would suggest it as a fun 1hr or so activity. Thanks!

Our instructor was great really nice and knowledgable. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer lady. truthfully I buy your candles often and decided to do this work shop with friends but I’m not overly impressed the candles . I put the recommended amount of scent in it . I can barely smell it when it’s lit .

How strong is the scent throw?

Our candles are designed to fill a room without being overpowering. Most customers notice the fragrance within 15-20 minutes of lighting. Soy wax releases scent more gradually than paraffin, so it's a steady, natural fragrance - not an initial blast that fades.

What if I don't like the scent?

We get it - scent is personal. If you're unsure, start with one of our bestsellers (they're bestsellers for a reason). And if something isn't right, reach out to us. We want you to love what you buy.

How long do your candles actually last?

Our 8oz jars burn for 40-50 hours. Our 16oz jars burn for 80-85 hours. Our 32oz jars burn for 160-175 hours. That's significantly longer than most paraffin candles because soy wax burns slower and more evenly.

Is shipping free?

We deliver across Canada using trusted carriers like Canpar, UPS, and Loomis. Orders ship within 3-5 business days (excluding holidays), and we offer free shipping on orders over $125.

Add any special delivery instructions at checkout for smooth delivery. If you're not home when your package arrives, your carrier will leave instructions for pickup.

Damaged in transit? Send us photos within 48 hours, and we'll issue a store credit or refund right away.

What's your return policy?

We want you to love your candles. If you're not completely happy, return unused items in their original packaging within 30 days for a full refund or store credit. You'll just need to cover the return shipping costs.

For damaged items, simply send us photos within 48 hours of delivery, and we'll sort out a refund or store credit. You can also return items to our retail stores within 30 days of purchase.

Are your candles safe for pets?

Yes. Our candles are 100% pure soy wax with cotton wicks and naturally derived fragrance oils - no paraffin, no lead, no phthalates. This means our candles burn cleanly without releasing the heavy toxins commonly found in paraffin-based candles, making them a safer choice for homes with pets. Cruelty-free, chemical-free, and no animal testing, ever. That said, just like humans, every animal is unique. Some pets may have sensitivities or allergies to certain scents, especially if they are more prone to respiratory issues.

Burning candles in a well-ventilated area

Monitoring your pet’s behavior when introducing a new scent

Avoiding prolonged exposure in smaller, enclosed spaces

If you notice any signs of sensitivity, simply discontinue use of that particular scent.

What type of wax do you use?

Our candles are made with 100% pure soy wax, grown by North American farmers. We chose soy because it burns cleaner and longer than traditional paraffin wax. Supporting local agriculture is important to us - that's why we source our soy from farmers right here in North America.

Should I trim the wick before my first burn?

For your first lighting, keep the wick at its original length. This helps create an ideal melt pool, which sets the pattern for how your candle will burn in the future. After the first burn, trimming to 1/4 inch will help your candle burn cleanly.

What ingredients do you use for fragrance?

Your candle's scent comes from a careful blend of essential oils and naturally derived fragrance oils. We choose only clean ingredients - which means no phthalates, phosphates, or parabens. This creates beautiful aromas that won't irritate sensitive noses or fill your air with chemicals.

What’s special about your wicks?

We use pure cotton wicks that are completely lead-free. They're self-trimming, which means less maintenance for you. Our wicks are carefully sized for each candle to provide the perfect flame and best possible burn.
