Do Soy Candles Burn Cleaner?

Do Soy Candles Burn Cleaner?

There’s nothing better than lighting a candle at the end of a long day. The soft flicker, the scent filling the room… it just makes everything feel calmer.
But if you’ve ever noticed a black ring inside your candle jar or even little smudges on your walls, you’ve probably thought: 'What am I breathing in right now?'

That’s one of the reasons we’re big soy candle fans. They’re made from plants (yep, actual soybeans) and they burn cleaner than paraffin candles.

Why soy candles are cleaner

Since paraffin wax comes from petroleum, it can throw off that black soot you see clinging to jars (and sometimes even your walls). Soy wax burns cooler, so you skip most of that. The air feels lighter, your jar stays cleaner, and you can just enjoy the glow without wondering what’s floating around.

Are soy candles soot-free?
Nope. No candle is. But if you’ve ever swapped paraffin for soy, you’ll notice the difference pretty quickly.

Is soy wax safe to breathe in?

Soy wax comes from plants, not petroleum, so you can burn it without that “what am I breathing in?” feeling. It keeps things a bit cleaner in the air and in your jar.
And while the wax matters, it’s not the whole story…

It's not just the wax

Wax is only part of the story. The wick and the scent matter too. We use cotton wicks (no lead or zinc here) and a blend of essential oils with high-quality, naturally derived fragrance oils. So you can burn your candle and just enjoy it for what it is, pure comfort.

Candles are about comfort. Soy just lets you have that comfort without as much mess or mystery. And that’s reason enough to keep one burning.
